STATE OF THE INDUSTRY - Senior Executive Panel
A panel of insurance company senior executives will provide
their unique insights into the state of the insurance industry.
Topics will include pricing, regulatory and political threats and
opportunities, and the increasing impacts of technology, as well as an
overall financial assessment of the industry..
"LEADING IN TIMES OF CHANGE" - Best Practices for
Today's Leaders
These are difficult times in terms of morale, change
management, public scrutiny, rigid budges and cost-cutting. To
motivate workers effectively, leaders must understand and address
important factors related to the psychology of change and performing
during ambiguous times.
Evolving workplace norms, worker demographics and the rapid pace of
change make leadership more challenging than ever before. Even the
most seasoned executive needs to evolve and adapt his or her skills
through greater awareness and self assessment. In the spirit of
the IASA "Energize your Career" annual theme, this session will provide
best practices and self improvement tools that will benefit even the
most adept leaders.
POINT - COUNTERPOINT:
Chief Information/Technology Officer -Chief Financial Officer - Chief
Executive Officer
Back by popular demand, this unique session will dig even
deeper into the dynamic relationship between Chief Financial and Chief
Information/Technology Officers, and this year we have added a new
dynamic: The voice of the CEO. Sometimes contentious, sometimes
collaborative, in the end these key executives play a critical role in
the success of the overall insurance enterprise. As the way we conduct
business evolves, the roles of these insurance executives must evolve as
well, and learning to work together may be difficult. Understanding your
fellow executives, through a frank and open dialogue, is necessary
before true collaboration on achieving strategic objectives can take
place. This session will feature an open and uninhibited debate. Be a
part of the discussion as we find common ground and new ways to improve
our organizations
THE BUSINESS CASE FOR SOCIAL MEDIA
The social media phenomenon has exploded onto the business
landscape and many companies have been caught by surprise. In fact, your
company is participating in social media whether you know it or
not. The insurance industry is approaching social media slowly,
and is still in the process of figuring out legitimate business uses
that allow checks and balances while providing a practical ROI.
Many questions remain, including: “How do I mitigate the risk
presented by participation in this new marketing and communication
channel?” and “What is the best way for my company to get
started without expending large quantities of valuable time and
resources?” This session will discuss ways insurers are beginning
to use this new medium and explore how these emerging tools can be
incorporated into a broader and commercially viable e-media
strategy.
BREAKOUT SESSIONS
Chief Information/Technology Officer -Chief Financial Officer - Chief
Executive Officer
Each discipline will seat a distinguished group of panelists
along with expert facilitators to participate in interactive roundtable
discussions in three separate meetings. A flexible format allows
attendees to control the topics and the flow of the discussion. Join in
a lively discussion of your key management issues, emerging trends and
other topics you want to explore with experienced peers.
