New IASA Registration Fee Structure Will Feel
Like Déjà Vu
By Joe Pomilia
So much has changed in the past 10 or so years, in fact the year 1999
seems like a lifetime ago. Just think, back then only about one
out of three people even had a cell phone! Thinking how attached
we all are to cell phones and gadgets these days, that seems truly
amazing to me. Further, we didn’t know about “social
networking,” Facebook, MySpace and the like, but come to think of
it perhaps living without social media wasn’t all that bad.
From a personal career standpoint it feels like I have been at IASA for
a very long time, but back in 1999, I was still a year removed from
joining the association. I bet if you think back to what you were
doing in 1999 you will probably feel the same as I do.
Along that line of thinking, IASA may not have mastered time travel, but
the association is committed to making certain insurance industry
professionals and IASA members get a “blast from the
past.” For the 2010 IASA Annual Educational Conference &
Business Show, our “new” registration price rollback
opportunity should give a lot of people the feeling the new millennium
hasn’t yet happened. For the very first time, IASA is going
to offer a tiered registration rate that will allow companies to
significantly reduce the average per attendee registration
price.
The new tiered registration rate will mean that hundreds of 2010
conference attendees will experience all that IASA has to offer this
June, in Texas, for as little as $500. That is basically
the same rate that attendees paid way back in 1999! At a time like
this, where value is the driving force for many expenditure decisions,
and training dollars are hard to come by, IASA has found a way to
improve on our already impressive value proposition.
Just think, more than 75 educational sessions in three tracks
(Accounting, Risk Management & Finance or A.R.F., Career Skills
Development or C.S.D., and Technology or TECH), super sessions for each
track, keynotes by thought leaders and motivators, access to the
industry’s largest exhibit hall, networking opportunities and
more…all for a new low price! Here’s how it
works.
The new tiered rate provides a $150 discount off the applicable
registration rate ($650 early bird member or $850 regular rate member)
once two individuals from a company have already registered to attend
the conference. The $150 discount has no limit level either, so
any number of additional attendees will all be afforded the $150 rate
discount. What that means is that a company that sends, for
example, ten people, all by the early bird discount cutoff would pay a
total of just $5,300 (two at $650 and eight at $500) in registration
fees, or an average registration rate per person of just $530
overall.
So, enjoy a little Déjà vu when you register for the 2010 IASA
Annual Educational Conference & Business Show this year. Think about
the good old days of the past. The conference program will be
cutting edge and up-to-date, but the price will remind you of a bygone
era. We’re looking forward to seeing you in Orlando!
