Celeska Fredianelli, Chairman of the Board

Celeska is currently the Audit Manager for Aegis Security Insurance Company and has almost thirty years in the insurance industry with extensive leadership experience including Stat and GAAP financial reporting and analysis, plant operations, program business management, risk assessment, and system implementation. She has served on the IASA Board of Directors as CFO and CIO and on the Management Team as chair of the e-Learning, Exhibits, Publications, and CFO Roundtables lending her industry expertise to each team. Most recently, she has served as IASA President. For the 2018-2019, Celeska will serve as Chairman of the Board. In her free time, Celeska enjoys traveling with her husband, Ron, and their two grandsons.

Rod Travers, Executive Director 

Rod Travers joined the IASA Team in July 2017 as Executive Vice President and in the coming year will work closely with IASA Executive Director, Joe Pomilia, on key initiatives including program development, strategic planning and member relations.  In July 2018, Rod will succeed Joe Pomilia as Executive Director in anticipation of Joe's planned retirement in September 2018.  Rod comes to IASA as a long-time volunteer, previously serving as Executive Vice President and COO of Nolan Consulting which specializes in strategy, operations, and technology for insurance carriers.  Rod's background is in information systems, operations management, and brand advocacy.  Rod was a principal and head of operations for Nolan and also served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF).  Rod has served IASA as President, President-Elect, as a member of the Board of Directors, and in Management Team roles including VP-Seminars (executive education) and VP-Marketing and Communications.  Rod is a Texas native where he lives with his wife Lori and their two daughters.

Beech Turner, President 

Beech Turner joined Assurant Inc. in February, 2010. Beech has over 20 years’ experience in the Insurance Accounting industry holding financial management positions with Meadowbrook Insurance Group and Builders Insurance Group before joining Assurant. Beech’s current position as Vice President, Finance includes the role of Treasurer on three property and casualty Insurance companies, GAAP financial reporting, including reinsurance accounting and supports business growth initiatives. Beech holds a Finance degree from Davenport University and a Masters of Business Administration from Kennesaw State University. He has volunteered for the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association (IASA) since 2002 participating on various committees and is currently the President-Elect. Beech and his family currently reside in Atlanta where they moved from Michigan in 2003.

Carlos Correa, President-Elect

Carlos has served as President and Head of Technology for the United States and Latin American region of Liberty International Underwriters (LIU). He was with LIU for 16 years. During this time he has lead various regional and global systems implementations and conversion projects.  In addition to his IT positions, he has held Underwriting and Claims positions within the company. He is a graduate of Villanova University with his Masters from Boston University. He has been a senior volunteer for IASA and management team member holding positions as Technology Education Director and Vice President of Business Show and CIO over the years.

Scott McEntee, CFO

Scott is currently Vice President of Accounting and Assistant Treasurer at Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company of Iowa, the 4th largest crop insurance company in the nation.  He is responsible for the accounting and reporting functions as well as Enterprise Risk Management programs for the Farmers Mutual Hail Group of Companies. He is a national and local speaker on the topic of ERM for insurance companies.  Prior to joining FMH Scott was the Director of Statutory reporting for the US operations of Aviva USA. Scott has over 30 years of experience in P&C, life, managed care, and banking industries. He has held various leadership positions throughout his career and with the IASA’s Midwest Chapter; he has been a national volunteer for 5 years. Scott sits on the Board of Directors of Iowa’s “Global Insurance Accelerator” and is also a mentor to startup companies and entrepreneurs participating in the program. Scott has served as VP-Membership and most recently VP-Publications for IASA.  Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and has numerous designations from the Insurance Institute of America. Scott lives in Grimes, Iowa with his wife Sue, and has 3 sons.

Laurie Macklosky, CIO

Laurie Macklosky is AVP of Execution at The Hartford and has a proven track record in successful execution of large scale multiyear multi-million dollar projects and programs using expertise in various methodologies (Agile/Lean/SAFe, Waterfall/Incremental).  Laurie was most recently 2nd Vice President and Execution Lead for Business Insurance at Travelers and her previous roles have included organizational redesign and competency build. Laurie has been an IASA volunteer for over 10 years, most recently holding the position of VP of Executive Education. She lives in Bristol CT with her husband, Rick and two children.

Margarete Chalker, Member-At-Large

Margarete is a Partner with Plante & Moran PLLC in East Landing Michigan.   Margarete's responsibilities include helping insurance companies, their affiliates and other service companies by providing business tax services including state and local tax consulting and assistance. Her practice includes consolidated and multi-state groups as well as for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.  Margarete has volunteered on IASA's Executive Education Committee, chair of the Insurance Accounting, Risk Management and Finance Committee and for this year will serve as a Board Member At Large.

Annette Devine, Member-At-Large

Annette Devine serves as the Vice President, Accounting Services for WoodmenLife. In this role she is responsible for all aspects of the company’s finance function including accounting, financial statement, tax, budgeting, payroll and payment processing. Prior to serving as Vice President, Devine was the Director, Tax Compliance and Payroll at WoodmenLife from 2003-2007. In this role she managed all aspects of Tax and Payroll. Prior to this role she served various other management and non-management roles at WoodmenLife from 1983-2003. She is a member of the Women’s Center for Advancement (WCA), Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA), Insurance Accounting Systems Association (IASA), Red Basket, Woodmen Insurance Agency (WIA), Woodmen Foundation and WFS Holdings, Inc. She serves as a board member for WCA, Red Basket, Woodmen Foundation, IASA, as well as Treasurer for WFS Holdings and WIA, and President Elect for AFWA, in addition she has held the Director of Membership for AFWA and Chairman for Buena Vista CB Alumni, and Chairman for the Supervisory Committee of Woodmen Federal Credit Union. Annette holds a bachelor’s degree (Magna Cum Laude) with accounting emphasis from Buena Vista in Storm Lake, IA and holds her FLMI and ACS designations. Born and raised in Iowa, Annette still resides there with her husband Dennis, daughter Callie and 2 dogs, 2 grown children and 2 grandchildren. In her spare time, Annette loves to read and spend time with her children.  

Heather Dunn, Member-At-Large

Heather is Vice President and CFO at West Bend Mutual Life Insurance Company.  Heather has served as an IASA volunteer member on the Seminars Committee, the Executive Education Committee as Chair of the Chief Financial Officer Roundtable and will serve as Board Member at Large for the 2018-2019 year.

Margaret Horn, Member-At-Large

Margaret Horn is currently Vice President of Statutory Reporting for Everest Reinsurance Company in Liberty Corner, NJ, where she has worked since 2011. Prior to joining Everest, Margaret was with Prudential Financial in various departments and positions for over 20 years, and High Point Insurance as Comptroller for 3 years. She currently sits on the IASA Board of Directors as a Board Member at Large, and serves as Treasurer on the Board of IASA’s Metro NY/NJ Chapter, where she has volunteered since 2005. Prior volunteer roles with IASA include 2 years serving as Vice President of the Business Show, and two years as President of the Metro NY/NJ Chapter. She is a certified public accountant (CPA), and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Margaret lives in New Jersey with her husband Steve, and their youngest of two daughters.

Phil Iaccarino, Member At Large

Phil is currently the Director of Product Marketing for Guidewire.  He has served as an IASA volunteer for several years on the Exhibits Committee, Solution Provider Enrichment Committee and Executive Education Committee.  For 2018-2019 Phil will serve as Board Member At Large.
