Your IASA Staff

Joe Pomilia, IASA- Executive Director

Joe is responsible for the day to day operations, as well as the long range success of the IASA.  He has direct oversight of the staff and all service providers to the association.  He reports to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and works closely with the President, Board of Directors and the Management Team in an effort to help the association achieve optimum operating efficiency, outstanding service to members and continuous growth.  Joe’s efforts often facilitate partnerships with other industry organizations, vendor companies and regulatory bodies to increase member and volunteer benefits, enhance product offerings and maximize the experience of the IASA for everyone involved.



Rod Travers, Executive Vice President

Rod Travers joined the IASA Team in July 2017 as Executive Vice President and in the coming year will work closely with IASA Executive Director, Joe Pomilia, on key initiatives including program development, strategic planning and member relations.  In July 2018, Rod will succeed Joe Pomilia as Executive Director in anticipation of Joe's planned retirement in September 2018.  Rod comes to IASA as a long-time volunteer, previously serving as Executive Vice President and COO of Nolan Consulting which specializes in strategy, operations, and technology for insurance carriers.  Rod's background is in information systems, operations management, and brand advocacy.  Rod was a principal and head of operations for Nolan and also served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF).  Rod has served IASA as President, President-Elect, as a member of the Board of Directors, and in Management Team roles including VP-Seminars (executive education) and VP-Marketing and Communications.  Rod is a Texas native where he lives with his wife Lori and their two daughters.

Margaret McKeon, CMP, IASA- Vice President of Conference and Events

Margaret’s primary duties are to work with all of the Board members, Management Team members, and Committees to plan and organize Fall and Spring Board Meetings and the Annual Conference and Business Show.  Margaret is the staff liaison to the Management Team and Seminars Committee and co-Liaison to the Marketing and Communications Committee, Executive Education Program Committee.



 

 

 Chuck Gunkel, IASA- Vice President of Business Development

Chuck is responsible for a broad range of business development initiatives for IASA including, membership, sponsorships/exhibits and other revenue generating areas.  He is also involved in growing our volunteer base as well as supporting the continued expansion of our local Chapters.



 



Karyn Spaude - IASA Vice President of Programs

Karyn’s role is primarily responsible for managing and expanding the associations various educational programs.  Her expertise and background will help enhance the educational offerings in terms of content, quality, relevance, and broader appeal across the industry. , Karyn will work closely with the Education, Executive Education, e-Learning, and other committees to carry out these responsibilities and other association initiatives. Karyn has been a long-time IASA volunteer at both the chapter level (Michigan, where she served in various roles including President), and at the National level (where she has served in many roles including VP of Exhibits, VP of Volunteer Development, and VP of Membership and Industry Relations).  She is an accomplished financial professional, having started her career with E&Y and later working at Amerisure, PrimeOne, and MAIPF.    She holds a BBA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Walsh College.  Karyn lives in Michigan with her husband Chris and their children Nate and Leah.


Gina Jolly, IASA- Assistant Vice President of Operations and Administration

Gina is responsible for management of the day-to-day operations of the International Office.  Additional responsibilities include Accounting, Invoices & Approvals, Annual Budget preparation, Educational Program and Speaker Coordination.  Gina is the staff liaison to the Board, Education Committee and co-Liaison to the Nominating Committee and Chapter Advisory Committee.



 


 

 Tricia Stillman,
IASA- Assistant Vice President of Membership and Marketing

Tricia’s primary duties include Membership, Marketing, e-Learning, Volunteer Development as well as Technology Projects and Data Maintenance.  Tricia is the staff liaison to the Volunteer Development Committee and Advisory Committee and is co-liaison to the Marketing and Communications, Membership, e-Learning and Nominating Committees.




 

Kim Morris, IASA -Director of Exhibits

Kim's responsibilities include Exhibits, Vendor Connect Tours and Sponsorships.  Kim is staff liaison to the Exhibits Committee.







 
Sheila White-Smith, IASA- Senior Manager of Membership and Industry Relations

Sheila is responsible for Membership, Seminars, Interpreter subscriptions, CPE credits and textbook fulfillment and Executive Education Program and Scholarships.  Sheila is the staff liaison to the Industry Relations Committee  and co-liaison to the Membership Committee, Marketing and Communications Committee and Executive Education Program Committee.







 
Angie Gurganus, IASA- Chapter Services Coordinator

Angie’s responsibilities include support for all aspects of events held by IASA local Chapters. She also assists with various back office duties including database maintenance, event registration and set-up and other administrative functions.  She is co-liaison to the Chapter Advisory Committee.
