IASA 2017 Education Program is Taking Shape!

In Austin, Texas on September 17 and 18, IASA conducted its Fall Planning Meeting for the Annual Educational Conference and Business Show.   During this meeting of the IASA National Volunteers, the Education Committees for the Technology, ARF and Career Skills Development tracks met to begin to build out the Technical Session Program for IASA 2017 in Orlando.  Early results of these meetings are showing that “All Systems” are indeed “GO!” for IASA 2017.

Technology track director, Doug Ramsey, Travelers notes “The Technology Committee is excited to have chosen sessions covering such perennial topics as Policy Administration System and System Modernization considerations; trending topics related to leveraging the Cloud and a focus on Cyber Security will also be discussed; and innovation through emerging technologies will be covered, through topics such as the implications of Driverless Vehicles and Robotic Process Automation.”

ARF track director, Margarete Chalker, Plant Moran shares with us that “The ARF Committee added a “Townhall” type session in which the participants will be given the opportunity to submit questions in advance for Regulators to discuss.  ARF will also offer a number of panels featuring carriers who will discuss best practices for tax departments, successful reinsurance placements, and ideas for the formation of an internal audit department.     Accounting and Financial Reporting Updates will once again be featured, as well as a variety of topics in the areas of operations, investments, tax, and risk management.”

Career Skills director, Collette Mangold, Brentwood Services Administrators, Inc. reported that “Career Skills Development is pleased to showcase several new speakers covering subjects in both the Career Development and Leadership.   Trending topics include diversity awareness, recruiting, mentoring, and public speaking to name a few.”  She stated that the Career Skills Development committee continues to focus on providing education to help our members “Gain skills and knowledge to lead a productive, happier life while exploring the current state of the industry, shifting demographic trends and cultivate new and existing talent.”
