Thank you for submitting to present at IASA! The speaker selection process is highly competitive, attracting top talent from across the country. To ensure you have the most successful submission possible, we’ve created some friendly tips for you to keep in mind during your preparation and submission process. Thank you again for submitting to present at IASA. We look forward to receiving and reviewing your submission.
Title
Short and sweet is best. Titles with seven or fewer words are ideal. Create a marketing-worthy title that is memorable, catchy, and directly relates to your subject matter. Think of the title as the headline to your presentation. If your title appeared as a headline in your favorite professional magazine or website, would you read on it or click on it?
Abstract/Description
Write this as though your session is being promoted in an ad or a trade journal. Be succinct, but use powerful and common industry phrases and keywords. We aren’t looking for sessions that have been heavily circulated in other venues. How is your session different? How is it evolving the “story” or topic? Be sure to lean into the latest, late-breaking news, trends, and research on the subject, so it is as timely and relevant as possible. Don’t forget to check your writeup for grammatical errors and typos. It’s always a good practice to have someone else proofread. If you have in-house marketing communications staff, perhaps you can ask them to review your title and session for its marketability and potential editorial issues.
Delivery Type
IASA Xchange and OnPOINT as striving to create the best event experience for members and attendees. We aren’t seeking hours upon hours of seminar- or lecture-style sessions. However, alternative delivery methods and engagement can be challenging virtually. How can your session be different and engage our audience? Workshop-style sessions are highly appealing. Panel presentations with the industry’s top experts that engage audiences are good to have. Sessions that tackle and solve — with audience participation — real industry issues and challenges have a high likelihood of selection. Incorporating digital engagement during the session is desired.
