A message from Laurie Macklosky – Volunteering with IASA

It’s an exciting time to be a part of IASA! We’re in the midst of strategic change that will transform our organization into a community that accelerates professional growth to shape, influence, elevate and strengthen the insurance industry. Part of this transformation begins with welcoming all insurance professionals and providing growth and leadership opportunities for those under-served and under-represented in our community. To accomplish this goal, IASA is proud to announce the creation of two new committees: Diversity and Inclusion and Women in Leadership.

The Diversity and Inclusion Committee will cultivate and foster a culture that promotes the goals of accepting, respecting, and valuing the differences of all individuals.

IASA has selected Wesley McCleod to lead our D&I initiative. Wesley is a Partner in DHG’s Insurance Services group and is based in High Point, North Carolina. He has extensive experience managing insurance engagements, including SEC-compliant annual financial statement audits and quarterly reviews, and financial statement audits of various property and casualty insurers, including preparation of NAIC annual statements and annual audited statutory and GAAP financial statements.

Through our Women in Leadership Committee, IASA will educate, encourage, and mentor females in the insurance industry to become leaders within IASA and in the industry.

To lead our Women in Leadership initiative, IASA has selected Kristine Weber, Senior Vice President, Accounting & Claims Manager with reinsurance intermediary BMS Re US. She also holds the title of Registered Operations Professional for BMS Capital Advisory, Inc.  Kristine currently manages the team of Accounting & Claims analysts on day to day client activities as part of the Client Reinsurance Operations group at BMS. Kristine works on all insurance lines of business including workers’ compensation & property/casualty and has a focus in handling specialty casualty business including professional liability and medical malpractice accounts. She has been involved in many IT related initiatives including system implementation & conversion projects as well as developing system metric & reporting solutions.

In addition to these two new opportunities to get involved, IASA, on behalf of our Volunteer Development Committee, is seeking volunteers for the following committees:
