IASA Volunteers getting work done and having fun, virtually!
Volunteers – Moving IASA Forward

The IASA national volunteers are still hard at work planning for all possible outcomes of the 2020 Conference in St. Louis, MO. The national volunteer base was recently scheduled to come together for our annual spring planning meeting to work on the details of the conference, share ideas for future events and brainstorm marketing and communication ideas, but calls from government leaders for social distancing caused us to cancel our in-person meetings.  The planning meetings are typically held over a weekend which combine several committee sessions with the pleasure of having fun with fellow colleagues who over time have become life-long friends.

While the disappointment of not physically gathering was felt, the IASA staff pulled together two days of successful virtual meetings.  Ideas were shared, plans were made, contingencies were discussed, and the volunteers were able to catch-up with each other.  There were even random acts of on-camera silliness providing for laughs all around.

Staying connected with family and friends during this unprecedented time is essential to our well-being and for the volunteers, and the IASA family is an essential part of that equation. While the status of the conference in St. Louis is still unknown, we openly invite you to join our IASA family as a volunteer to help us shape and direct the organization as it moves forward.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please email Tricia Stillman, tstillman@iasa.org.

Once again, the IASA hopes you and your families remain healthy and safe.
