Jake Garn currently serves as the Director of Financial Regulation and Licensing for the Utah Insurance Department. In this role, he oversees the financial solvency of 50 Utah domestic insurance companies as well as company and producer licensing. He has held several leadership positions within the NAIC, including Chair of the Financial Blanks Working Group and Vice Chair of both the Capital Adequacy Task Force and the Valuation of Securities Task Force. He is the current Chair of the NAIC Credit Rating Provider Working Group.
His public service includes tenures on the planning commission and the city council in Kaysville, Utah. Through these roles, he developed a strong commitment to listening to diverse perspectives on essential public matters.
Outside of his professional work, Jake and his wife, Sharon, enjoy biking and swimming. They also stay busy hosting Sunday dinners and pool parties for their seven children, thirteen grandchildren and friends.
