As Investment Director for PNC Institutional Asset Management’s Insurance Solutions Group, James leads a team of investment professionals that work with PNC’s insurance clients on all aspects of their investment programs and client service efforts. James regularly provides thought leadership, education and insights to his clients through published articles, participation in industry webinars, and conference speaking engagements.
Prior to assuming his current position, James served as head of the PNC’s Derivatives Strategies Group. Before joining PNC in 2012, he spent seven years as an interest rates and commodity derivatives, and foreign exchange senior trader after starting his career as a trading associate at TransMarket Group in Chicago, Illinois.
James graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and with a Master of Science in financial engineering from Kent State University. James holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations. James currently serves as Chair of CFA Institute’s Disciplinary Review Committee and previously served as the Midwest U.S. Presidents Council Representative for the organization. James is Chair of the Kent State University Foundation Board of Directors and was formerly chair of the Kent State University Alumni Association and former chair and current member of the University’s Department of Finance Advisory Board.
